Single Women: A Documentary That Finally Tells Your Story

[The following is an email I received from Kerri David.  It’s about her newest feature length documentary,  Seeking Happily Ever After.   Do not be fooled.  This documentary is not about getting comfortable with being single, why you should love being single, how to stop being single.  It’s much more basic and significantly more important than that.  It’s interviews with many women with many different ideas about what it means to them to be single, to be happy and content in your life.  Don’t miss any opportunity to see the documentary or read the book,  Seeking Happily Ever After: How to navigate the ups and downs of being single without losing your mind, which will be published by Penguin next October.  KGL]

Hi, I'm Kerri David.  I'm the Director of Seeking Happily Ever After, a feature-length doc about why there are more single 30-something women today than ever and whether women are redefining happily ever after. Some of you have already supported/blogged about us, and thank you for that!

A new study came out today from Live Science today saying that while there are more single women than ever, the stigma is not lifting for women.

This makes our documentary all the more timely and essential--and I'm so happy our film will show single women around the world that they are part of a major community and encourage them to think about how they want to view and live "happily ever after."

We just got into our first film festival, the California Arts Independent Film Festival, and we're currently trying to raise funds to take our documentary around the U.S. We're using a cool new platform that offers rewards to donors and is surprisingly fun. It's called kickstarter and here is our project. http://kck.st/bV022F

We are trying to raise $15K in 3 months using kickstarter.com, an amazing program that allows donors to receive fun rewards for chipping in. We would greatly appreciate it if you could help spread the word via Facebook, Twitter, whatever suits you. http://tinyurl.com/yd23en3

We're starting to get great press, including Forbes Magazine; check out the updates page on our web site.

We would love it if you could support us and post the link and share it with friends.  In advance, I thank you so much for any help you can offer on getting the word out, and I hope to see you soon for a screening of our documentary in a theater near you.
